How to Add Your Camper to the Waitlist:
To place your camper on the waitlist, sign up for a session as you normally would when registering. The only difference is NO deposit is required to be put on the waitlist.
- Select the session that is full. A popup screen will appear informing you the program is full and asking if you would like to continue.
- Click “Continue”
- Advance through all pages for the session, filling out the necessary information, until you reach the screen that asks “What would you like to do?”.
- No further action is required at this point-you have successfully put your camper is on the waitlist.
What To Do Next:
If you want to make sure your camper is still able to come to camp for the summer, we recommend signing them up for a different session that still has openings. You can check out which sessions have openings HERE. If a spot opens up off the waitlist you will be able to transfer your registration.
If no other sessions work for your camper, then the only other thing to do is wait for a call from camp if a spot opens up.
Waitlist Order:
In general, when a spot opens up for someone off the waitlist we call based on sign-up order. So the first person to sign up for the waitlist will be offered the open spot first, then the second person, and so on. We also give priority to campers who have NOT come to camp yet this summer.
When we are in the final week before a session starts (and cabin assignments have already been created) we will also take into consideration things like grade level and gender when looking at the assigned cabin where the open spot is.
I’m on the waitlist. Will I get in?
There’s no way to tell. Some sessions have ZERO people move off the waitlist-nobody cancels or transfers. Some sessions have DOZENS of people move off the waitlist. It just depends on the session.
In general, if you are one of the first few people on the waitlist in February, you have reasonably good odds of getting into the session, but there’s still no guarantee. Closer to summer you can improve your odds by being willing to come to camp even if we call the day the session starts. Many people on the waitlist are no longer able to come when an opening occurs right before a session starts.
When We Call:
We call people on the waitlist AS SOON as a spot becomes available. It could be as early as February, or it could be as late as the day the session starts. It all depends on when other people transfer or cancel out of the session. We will communicate through the phone number and email associated with your account, so make sure they are ones you check regularly.
How long will I have to respond to an offer to move off the waitlist?
When we contact you, we will let you know your deadline to respond before we call the next person on the list. In general, you will have anywhere from a few days (during the early spring) to as little as 24 hours (once we’re within a few weeks of the start of the session) to respond when we initially contact you.
If my camper no longer needs to be on the waitlist should I let you know?
YES! PLEASE! Having people on the waitlist who no longer want a spot greatly delays the process of finding someone who can attend. To be removed from the waitlist, simply call our office at 812-342-4815 or click “Contact Us” at the bottom of this page!
