For Tiny Tykes, Mother-Daughter, and Father-Son sessions check-in time occurs from 9:00-10:00 am on Saturday morning.

For Family Fun Fest Retreats check-in time occurs from 6:30-7:30 pm on Friday evening.

Pro Tip:  You can check-in at ANY point during the check-in times, and will often find shorter lines if you arrive later!

What do I need to know for check-in time?

As you drive into camp, staff will greet you at the bottom of the hill, guide you to parking, and give you further instructions on checking in your camper(s). (Please note that staff will not be in place BEFORE check-in time is scheduled to start.)

At Camp Lakeview, check-in takes place at the Dining Hall.
At Lakeview Villages check-in takes place at the Village Lodge.

You and your camper will both go through the check-in line.  During check-in you will be able to:

  • Add money to your camper’s canteen account (for week-long programs).
  • Turn in your camper’s medical form. Remember, this form can NOT be filled out online.
  • Find out your camper’s counselor and cabin/village.
  • Turn in any medication to the First Aid Coordinator.

Right by the check-in line is the Shirt Shack, our camp store.  Check-in time is a good time to buy a camp shirt, sweatshirt, or souvenir for your camper to enjoy during the week.  The Shirt Shack is also open as campers head home at the end of camp.

What happens after I check-in?

After the check-in line, you can go to your camper’s cabin/village.  There, you will have the chance to:

  • Meet and talk with your camper’s counselor.
  • Help your camper set up their bunk and unpack.
  • Let the counselor know about any special requirements your camper that will help make their week better.
  • Fill out a Check-Out Form indicating who is allowed to pick your camper up at the end of their session.  If someone other than a parent or guardian is dropping your child off, please provide a signed note indicating who may pick your child up at the end of camp.

After doing this, the check-in process is complete.

You and your family are more than welcome to stay and enjoy camp until the end of check-in time.  Go swimming, horseback riding, hiking, and more, or sit in the shade and enjoy some sweet treats from our canteen!

Departure Times

Families picking campers up from a full or half-week session of camp are encouraged to join us for our Closing Program.  You can find Closing Program times below.

After Closing Program, you will be able to pick up your camper at their cabin.  You must sign out your camper with their counselor.  Campers will be released only to people authorized on the Check-Out Form.

Pro Tip: You are able to arrive at camp before the start of Closing Program to pack up your camper’s luggage.

For Camp Lakeview sessions (Classic, Explorer) Closing Program is from 6:15-7:00 pm on the last day of the camp session at the Amphitheater.

For Lakeview Villages sessions (Village, Night Owl) Closing Program is from 5:30-6:00 pm on the last day of the camp session behind the Village Lodge.

Our Tiny Tykes, Mother-DaughterFather-Son and Family Fun Fest sessions end at 12:00 pm on Sunday.  But you are welcome to stay and enjoy camp for the rest of the afternoon!

What is Closing Program?

Closing Program is a time for parents, family, and friends of campers to come and experience a taste of camp.  You will get to hear everything that happened during the camp session, watch the campers perform a camp song, and learn how to help your camper process their time at camp.  We highly encourage parents to attend Closing Program.  It acts as a bridge between camp and ordinary life and is very valuable in helping you connect with your camper and their experience at camp.

The Canteen and Shirt Shack will be open as you head out in case you want to pick up some more camp souvenirs or snacks for the road.

What if I need to drop my camper off late or pick them up early?

While we firmly believe that your camper will get the most out of their camp experience by being there for the whole time, we also recognize that sometimes life gets in the way.

If you need to drop off your camper or pick them up outside of our usual times, please call our office ahead of time to let us know.  We will make sure that someone is waiting to greet you and your camper when you arrive or that your camper is ready to go when you come to pick them up.

Our office number is 812-342-4815.
